What's the deal?

I've noticed lately that a lot of people use cream cheese on their bento sandwiches....but WHY??? Other than the fact that it keeps the sandwich from flying all over the place, I really don't see the point! The only time I ever eat cream cheese is on a hot, toasted bagel. But...on a sandwich? With meats like bologna? BLECH! How can that possibly taste good? Can somebody please explain? Why not just use peanut butter? Personally, I think peanut butter can hold a sandwich together much better than cream cheese can. But seriously...the thought of even putting cream cheese in a sandwich makes my stomach turn. I've never had problems with my sandwiches falling apart. Even when I have bologna, American cheese and spicy mustard...the mustard holds the top of the sandwich together while it lays flat on the other side.

IDK, I guess I'm ranting now. But can anyone explain to me why cream cheese seems to be a staple in bento sandwiches?

And now, for your viewing pleasure, the most recent picture of my gorgeous 6 month old daughter, Miya!

Whipped cream cheese really does taste good with honey ham! My kids love it and I like it as well.

Really? I just never thought of cream cheese mixing with anything good, except bagels and cheesecake! Hmm...maybe I'll have to try it at some point.
